Then there is the Zapatista Army of National Liberation who controls the Mexican territory in Chiapas, so that are two of the factions that are fighting.

Concur with the Zapatistas-they need to be landed on with both feet, but...that other outfit is so crazy they make the prewar Sindero Luminoso in Peru look like saints.

OOC, but after the 1987 Battle of the Baltic Exits the Soviet surface fleet was not that a threat, also it sends a signal that the United Kingdom is committed to fight the Soviets Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime.

Must be late in the year, since it looks like both
Waikato and
Wellington have been refit with LW-08 radar.

Normally that task force would be built around HMAS Melbourne, but by that point in the war, she was in desperate need of overhaul, refit, and repair… remember that she had been decommissioned before the war and was reactivated due to the outbreak of the war…

OOC, so you where they on that created the OOB for New Zeeland, i used a old version on my forum i found on the Red Dawn Wiki, i hope it is okay that i posted it.

Not the surface fleet, perhaps. But, there subs would still be very active. The Invincible
class’ primary role was to lead an ASW group. By 1988 the RN only had four carriers (two
Invincible & two
Furious), plus the two ‘austerity’ LPH which could also act as escort carriers. IMVHO, sending one carrier to the Far East would overstretch the fleet and lead to times when only one carrier would be available for operations.

To bad, are two nice images, so we could not have Ark Royal escorting a British force to Hong Kong and then go back to the United Kingdom by the way of Hawaii, Panama Canal, do a strike against Mexico and then head back to the United Kingdom.
