It would be an honor to put the poor thing out of it's misery. Too bad really, although I don't care much for most dogs, their too needy I like "Go F yourself" cats, they sure are a far more likeable group than what passes for "leadership" in today's DemoRat party.

How can man die better than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his God?
When a (DPMA) or (SRA) was not possible we made do
This will seem funnier if you folks know what I am talking about. The USN types here can disregard the following.
"Availability" is a Scheduled assignment of a ship to an industrial activity for the purpose of accomplishing repairs or performing maintenance and/or modernization.
1. Drydocking Phased Maintenance Availability (DPMA) - A phased maintenance availability extended to include drydocking of the ship.
2. Drydocking Selected Restricted Availability (SRA) - A selected restricted availability extended to include drydocking of the ship.

Colleen writes to her son. "Dear Paddy, I hope the British are treating you well in prison. It's rough here, as we're approaching planting season and the ground on the west plot is so very hard. Without you to fix the tractor, we will probably have to rent one from the Fitzpatricks. It's going to be a thin profit."
He writes back, "Ma! Whatever you do, don't dig the west field. That's where we hid the grenades and rifles for the Company."
The same day she receives the letter, the Royal Engineers show up with mine detectors, chemical sniffers, backhoes and scrapers, and turf the field down three feet. They find nothing and leave.
The next day she receives another letter. "I've done what I can, Ma. Plant the potatoes."
