Weather has turned, forecasting front of spicy thunder-cells to sweep North across English Channel from France.
SE UK red-warned to expect possible dousing on Wednesday, any-one else under weather front to expect similar.
May reach Midlands.

Thursday, IIRC, forecast is more of the same.
Lots more.
May reach significantly North of eg Birmingham.
Outrider storm-cells may reach, douse parts of NW UK with severe throw-downs.
Or, pass a few miles to E/W...

Fair enough: I usually do my weekly shop on a Wednesday, but did it today rather than risk a drenching.

We'd usually spend a fortnight camped at Red Wharf Bay, Anglesey, or near Holyhead under the 'Vulcan' fly-way. Our big 'Marechal' frame-tent (steel not alloy), double-pegged & triple guyed, could withstand even the wildest South-Westerly Atlantic storm.

( One such blew every-one else off field, excepting a tiny 'Bivvy' tent which landed in the down-wind hedge: For its two amorous occupants, 'The Earth truly moved'... )

But, packing our tent's 'Outer' sopping wet was another business entirely. I remember one year when the weather was so ghastly that it was a full month before we could finally pour the 'Outer' from its wet-bag, hang & guy that sodden canvas from our clothes line to dry...
