ST: The Last Starship

Star Trek-based stories from Mike Kozlowski and others, set in Mike’s unique not-quite TOS, not-quite SFB but close enough to both ‘verse.

If we had a time machine and could take this back to 1989 as Star Trek V.bis, then I concur completely.

Unfortunately we don’t, and so all of the roles would have to be recast. That gets tricky because you have to find actors who look like Shatner, Nimoy, Kelley and Doohan, as they did in 1989, and lock the cast into essentially playing Shatner, Nimoy, Kelley and Doohan playing Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Scotty. It’s a different kettle of fish than say Paul Wesley and Ethan Peck playing much younger versions of said characters. It’s doable but very tricky.

Craig,

Point taken. ;)

And an aside - Marvel's Star Trek went in a different direction than Paramount - Kirk gets away but runs into....Mirror Enterprise, here to do recon before a full scale invasion from the Mirrorverse. Long story short - Excelsior is forced to retreat, leaving Styles stranded with Kirk and crew, which manages to escape and get to Vulcan. Mirror Enterprise shows up and whacks our ship, but the saucer escapes briefly before it looks like all is lost...before Excelsior returns with StarFleet and captures the Mirror ship....which becomes the 1701-A.

I wasn’t leaving subtle hints! Moi? Perish the thought! Which reminds me I should pick up Echoes of Wrath when I get 5 minutes.

Mr. Kozlowski,

Please have Lt. Valeris report to that writer’s room with an authorized phaser and her usual approach to kitchenware.
