I wonder what the zoning laws are in that area.
My town (suburban NJ) requires that you have at least a 5 acre plot to keep chickens. Mainly, I suspect, because someone on the zoning or planning boards was pissed off back in the 80's that their neighbor had chickens. There's very, very few properties in town that are 5 acres. I have to wonder if the person who was pissing the board member off back in the day happened to have 4.5 acres of land.
