The first C-130 in service for a european country is to be scrapped shortly. Having first been leased in March 1965 and then bought in September of the same year number 84001 (also shortened to 841) left service with the Swedish airforce a few years ago and has since then been together with 84003 at an aviation museum called Aeroseum. The decision has been made to scrap 84001 and focus on preserving 84003, albeit both are in rough shape.
But it’s a small piece of history going away so a tad sad in a way.
