Apparently it's a thing. This guy has a thing about thinking cartoons will reunify the peninsula in peace and love but aside from that it looks like a decent review. I haven't used the link to watch any of the subs yet.

In this case, "pokes his head in" is a REMARKABLY poor choice of words to describe the situation......
