VOWS COLUMN HED: Barron Trump, 27, TikTok CEO and scion of the former president, weds Swedish former activist Greta Thunberg, 24, in Palm Beach ceremony

It wasn’t supposed to happen. When Barron Trump fired up the Hinge app during a business trip to Sweden, he wasn’t expecting much. “I’m a tall guy,” the lanky tech executive and former first son said. “And that’s the thing about Scandinavians — they’re mostly tall, too.” But after a few swipes, he stopped. “I thought to myself, That’s a really familiar face . . .”

Thunberg was on a hunt of her own. “I was tired of the activists and the soyboys and the betas,” she says in between drags on her ever-present vape. “I mean, I still maintain a lot of my past opinions, it’s just that life is about compromise, you know? No one is the total package.”

Both of them felt a spark that first night. But neither of them was willing to make the necessary compromises to take the relationship to the next level. “She was kind of a firecracker on that first date,” says the younger Trump. “It was hard to get a word in.”

For her part, Thunberg was shocked to realize who this tall American was. “His Hinge profile wasn’t that up-front. And the photos didn’t show anything in D.C. or the White House or anything like that. I just thought, well, okay, I guess I can have dinner with a tech bro.”

But that dinner showed them both that when you put politics aside, love can blossom. They both say the dinner was tense, both of them suspicious of the other’s motives. But when dessert rolled around, they found out that they have a lot in common. True crime podcasts, extra spicy Doritos, 1980s hair bands, and the original Saved by the Bell.
