More than you would think. The difference is that the companies of those who work collaboratively are remembered, while the names of those who do not are. George Westinghouse and Marc Birkigt are good examples.jemhouston wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 11:43 pmSpeaking of epic shit
I'm not excusing the behavior but, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Hyman G. Rickover, and Curtis LeMay were difficult to work for. How many innovators were pleasant people to work for?

The headlines if something had clobbered his head would have bene interesting.Pdf27 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 6:28 pmMusk wearing trainers and no PPE while the guys right around him are doing a lifting operation with a hard hat on, no barriers between him and it? Yeah, anybody else in a normal job would be disciplined or fired for doing that.brovane wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 9:15 pmWell if it is on the Internet, it must be true, right?
Here is video inside of Starfactory. What do you see? Yeah bright safety colors and Musk. I guess that doesn't drive clicks does it?

All the deaths or serious injuries in the Reuters reporting are really obvious stuff that should never have happened if you had a half decent safety culture. That comes from the top, and starts with really basic stuff like the CEO wearing the same PPE as the employees when he's around the plant.
Re: The Billionaire formerly known as Musk...
Judging from what that pasty megalomaniac is doing regarding the Brit PM, he seems to want to topple him, to the point that British intelligence is looking into his actions (source: Spiegel online).
For some reason, I now have the plot for an action movie in mind. A joint group of, say, SAS, JTF 2 and KSK is formed to literally let a billionaire with designs on world domination disappear.
If that rectal sphincter goes on like this, he‘ll really end up in a barrel of lye…
I imagine some people in the 47 administration already are wary of him being obviously drunk with power…sooner rather than later he‘ll cross Trum and…the fireworks are going to be spectacular.

That scenario might not necessarily involve a smooth operation, I’ve seen some rumors that his personal protection detail consists of ex-specops peeps. That kind of people can be hard to circumvent without a fight.Jotun wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 3:12 pm Judging from what that pasty megalomaniac is doing regarding the Brit PM, he seems to want to topple him, to the point that British intelligence is looking into his actions (source: Spiegel online).

Do you really think ex-SOF personnel retain the edge they had when they were active?
I don‘t.
Then again, it was an idle brain fart. That guy has rubbed me the wrong way for years now, and lo and behold, my reservations were actually justified for once.
That said, he rates an air strike or a full battalion of rocket artillery. To make really sure.

Re: The Billionaire formerly known as Musk...
The one thing about the personal bodyguards vs say the Secret Serice. The private sector bodyguards have more incentive for doing it right. If their charge is killed or seriously injured, they're out of a job and probably unemployable. Secret Service might get transferred to a back office, but they would most likely have a job.
Re: The Billionaire formerly known as Musk...
No, but I do think many of them will have enough capability left to put up a fight. Against a tier 1 SF force they’ll most likely loose, but it might get a bit messy before that occurs.Jotun wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 5:51 pm Do you really think ex-SOF personnel retain the edge they had when they were active?

You mean Kier "I don't prosecute pedophiles, but I did get convicted murderers off death row" Starmer?Judging from what that pasty megalomaniac is doing regarding the Brit PM, he seems to want to topple him,
Of course Musk see's a happy alignment with his business needs to get a better regulatory environment in the UK and remove the worst PM in modern British history at the same time.
What's he got to loose?
Starmer pulls a 00 mission on Musk and Trump will do a full Eisenhower over Suez response.
And we'll all see Starmer for the British Uncle Joe, he wants to be. Dragging is off to the People's Republic of Britain.
++ good!
Though frankly he's more Brezhnev and the "train is still moving" officially.
Re: The Billionaire formerly known as Musk...
It doesn‘t matter a bit what your PM does and doesn‘t do. Don‘t you get that? He is a dickhead but he is your dickhead to deal with and not that gasbag Musk. You guys spent literally centuries destabilizing and subverting other governments and now you don‘t see what‘s in front of you, you don‘t care because incidentally your goals overlap?Zen9 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 8:48 pmYou mean Kier "I don't prosecute pedophiles, but I did get convicted murderers off death row" Starmer?Judging from what that pasty megalomaniac is doing regarding the Brit PM, he seems to want to topple him,

Even Putin and his proxies.
Shi Jinping and those he allows.
Blackrock's CEO
I could list dozens of them!

Agreed. Only difference is that Musk is making a song and dance about it rather than acting innocent - opinions vary, but on my part it feels really rude.
