Whiskey on the Rocks

Post by Lordroel »

New TV series for Micael:

The series is a playful take on what truly happened during the dramatic days at the turn of the month between October and November 1981, when the Soviet submarine U-137 ran aground in the Karlskrona archipelago. Never before has the world been closer to full-scale global conflict and all responsibility now rests on the shoulders of one man, Sweden's Prime Minister Thorbjörn Fälldin

I haven’t watched it yet, heard mixed things about it. Not very historically accurate apparently, such as buying the Soviet lie that it was an error in navigation, but it is a comedy so. Might watch it in a bit.

Given the overall competence shown by the Soviet and Russian military, maybe they really were lost.

Could have meant to hit Copenhagen...

I mean they they did get lost very locally, missed a turn and wound up on the rock. But they were in the archipelago intentionally, part of their operations in dropping off and recovering spetsnaz teams and such.
