Cascadia Subduction Zone.is big, bad, long, lurking.
Last mega-thrust segment went circa 1700 and it is probably winding up or another , some time in the next couple of centuries...
( IIRC, enough stress must accumulate to slowly, slowly lift coastal marsh-lands high and dry, the release both re-dunking and inundating with prompt tsunami. Uplifts seem not yet to have peaked but, when a segment does go, Be Not There... )
Turns out the underlying geology / tectonics is much, much more complex than previously mapped.
