Surely one of the better inventions of the 20th century.
Last Sunday I had a battle with the nastier of the two types of stinging ants hereabouts. I won the battle but the victory was somewhat Phyrric as I am allergic to their stings and had a fairly bad reaction.
Well, after locating the entrance to the nest it was a case of a good dousing down the hole then, ignition!
The “nuclear” option was of course the only option as I knew I’d be rather shabby on St Curtis Day, which was also the day I completed my 60th rotation about the sun and started my 61st.
Tales of nature and penetrating oil from an unusually dry and sunny Sydney.

Re: WD40
Isn't there a video somewhere where they pour molten aluminium down into a fire ant nest?
