Yep, that’s a classic case of stupid. Too many people who try that.

Well that wouldn't have been a safe pass without snow either.
That person needs to be banned from driving and be forced to re-take their test.

I suspect they got tagged again by the truck they just passed.

Damn, what level of stupidity does it take to play chicken with another semi-truck? (Let alone in the snow.)

Looked like it was a Subaru WRX.
Delusions about being a rally driver?
And yes Nik, the insurers will have a dim view of such stupidity.

I don't think it was a semi truck, was it? I thought it was a snowplow.
Distinction without a difference in the situation at hand, I know. No way a car or SUV is going to fare well when offset head on colliding with either a semi or a snow plow.

I just checked, and you are right it is a snow plow and not a semi. I guess I was too entranced by the idiot in the car to pay much attention to the plow moving the snow. I do wonder now if the semi-truck the idiot passed also hit his car in the rear after the accident as he isn't going to be able to stop very fast.Belushi TD wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 3:28 pmI don't think it was a semi truck, was it? No, but it makes a difference to the snowplow or semi driver. The snowplow driver stands a better of escaping injury than does a semi driver.Belushi TD wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 3:28 pmI don't think it was a semi truck, was it? I thought it was a snowplow.

I suppose that is true. However, the fact that the dashboard camera didn't immediately point towards the sky, or the trees or whatever indicates that the cab of the truck probably survived in fairly good order. I think we can safely say that the driver of the plow didn't suffer anything outside of some aches and pains.

I bet that made a mess of the plow/frame connection even though it looked like just a glancing blow
