Impressive driving

Even for a drunk driver what this guy managed to do was impressive.

Why do you call it drink-driving instead of drunken driving or driving while intoxicated?

That explains why the Vulcan liaison officer with Washington’s HQ was so ticked off with you.

I live near a roundabout's fly-over where, due to prior 'rights of way' etc, there was not quite enough land to have both a generous 'on-slip' from roundabout exit and a cambered approach to 'mild' bend at foot of bridge...

So, clockwise, the on-slip is partly masked by bridge sides, the 'merge' zone is curiously angled, and the curve's camber is much flatter than you'd expect. In fact, part is contrary-cambered so the on-slip has no nasty 'hump' at merge...

Result, if some-one takes fly-over clockwise at significant excess of well-posted 30 MPH speed limit...

Driver belatedly glimpses traffic emerging from slip-road, brakes, over-steers.
and/or
Driver feels drift, belatedly realises bridge-foot bend is not helpfully cambered. Takes foot off gas, over-steers.

Car whangs central barrier, spins across, mounts road-side barrier's end-wedge and launches from this 'ski-jump' like Evel Knievel.

We've seen a 'Mini Cooper' on its side between road-side barrier and garden walls, now with 'Italian Job' tyre-marks, even a Jaguar (!!) on its roof...
And, yes, that's where my serial quips about 'low flying ijits' arose...

Sections of the central and side barriers are often missing, gaps festooned with hi-viz hazard tape...

Note that 30 MPH limit is not 'just there'. It runs at least a quarter-mile both ways, and the next zone is 40 MPH, not 60 or 70...
If you cannot see the wood for the trees, deploy LIDAR.

I went to a schoolmates birthday party there when I was 5. As my wife says "You came from a posh family", which invariably causes guffaws of laughter from my siblings.
