I am still uneasy (at best) about AI in general. But if we're going to have mass drivers on the moon, and AI running things, we have to name it Mike. Just saying...
I approve.

The Difference Between Test and Reality....

...Today I Learned:

* In testing, the Wehrmacht said the V-1 had a CEP of 850 meters.

*In postwar testing, the V-1 was found to have a CEP of 12 kilometers.

Re: The US accidentally nuked itself....twice, also Greenland

I thought we could use a little more lighthearted stuff on the board lately, this details a B-52s desperate attempt to return to Seymour Johnson (seriously) air base with a leaking fuel take and 2 mark 39 bombs yielding 3.8 megatons. Also dropping nucs on Denmark sovereign soil allready has a prece...

We got about 4" of snow (or as we would have called that in Cleveland, 'Tuesday') which was mostly gone by this afternoon. But still a lot of moisture on the ground and the low tonight is going to be 11.

Mutiny On The....Vanguard?

...Ran across this on TwiX today and it definitely got my attention. Short summary - during the 1947 Royal Cruise, HMS Vanguard may have come within an ace of a flat-out mutiny due to conditions on board. Based on the documents that are included in the post, I think the report is accurate. Intereste...

Re: A guy finally managed to reverse engineer modern coke

....What's impressive is that it looks like he was the first guy to do it on his own. A cool story - when Coke managed to beclown itself in the mid-80s with New Coke, most of its competitors knew well ahead of time that it wasn't going to work out quite the way Coke thought. But most didn't have the...

...Jag's Last Roar...?

....So, apparently the last ICE Jaguar - an F-Pace SUV - came off the line on 19 December, headed straight to a museum. Sometime next year, an all-electric GT will start coming off the line, with a 150,000 pound price tag. Wondering what my friends on the other side of the Pond see in the future for...
