Re: Ozzy Osbourne has died
I'm amazed Ozzy made it to 76, good on him. As to Keef I've just read his (ghosted) autobiography, called Life. Rather a good read. A line from a Motorhead song - " they proved me right, they proved me wrong, but they could never last this long ". As it turned out Ozzy outlived Lemmie. Ke...

Re: Ozzy Osbourne has died
Regrettably expected. I first heard Black Sabbath in the early '70s and they have remained one of my favourite bands. They last came down under in 2016 and that was one of the best concerts I have been to. Ozzy was somewhat singular and he and his band were instrumental in the early days of heavy me...

In NSW we are in the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport. And, no, that does not provide for a good acronym. That art is now a lost one.

Re: Hitler's Amerikabomber
Stuart even included this in one of the TBO books, with the U-boat launching a V2 (from memory); that submarine got away but the point was, it was mainly down to luck, given the USN ASW patrols in the area. ...The Germans actually did experiment with a towed container carrying a single V-2, but I d...

Another good chapter Bernard. I did get much amusement, as a long time public servant, from: "our Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport ." Now I have not checked whether the Swiss have, or have ever had, such a combination in a department but I have personally been involved (fr...

Re: The Army cancels the M10 Booker, a ‘light tank’ that was too heavy
IIRC, it was to use the stockpile of 105s the Abrams were originally armed with. Bad procurement systems and people plus know nothing bean counters generally produce bad outcomes. And that is the opinion of a govt lawyer, though not one working in anything like defence. Somethings are universal tho...

Melbourne drivers seem to combine an ill tempered lack of manners with a vast overestimate of their abilities.

Re: Left turns
My recent, 13 March, problem is with someone turning right, though bear in mind here we drive on the left. Approaching an intersection with green lights both ways an oncoming diver "decided" to turn right without giving way and t-boned me. The impact was principally on my driver's door. Th...

Yeah, good luck.
After 7 1/2 years in my current role (Manager of Legal Services for my agency) I am going through having to apply for the role afresh. In a public service sort of way it makes sense but I have not gone through a formal recruitment process for about 30 years. Not fun.
