Re: NASA thinks they may have found biosignature on Mars
There is an unsettling if *very* remote possibility that primitive life began on Mars during the early, congenial 'Warm Wet' phase, then mega-impact transferred some to Earth. Where it survived, flourished while Mars 'died'... Which would make us *all* Martians. Conversely, bio-stuff could have gon...

Re: Predator: Badland trailer
It’s on Disney+ now so I finally got around to watching it. I would say it’s quite good, entertaining, cool action, and with some humor. Elle Fanning does a great job. They even managed to get the CGI to not look crappy unlike many other movies from the last few years.

Interesting, a bit I had not noticed before or had forgotten. When Lyta is scanning Kosh to see who the bad guy is, Kosh calls Sinclair Valen when they first meet.....bit of a giveaway... Yeah I reacted to that as well, I guess before you’re introduced to the concept of Valen later on it’s not some...

Re: Sweden Considers French Defense Frigates to Strengthen Naval Power in Baltic Sea.
Please do not presume a deal with the French will be easy, fixed or in any way low maintenance. There is a reason the UK has repeatedly walked away from the French and it's not some prevailed francophic prejudice. This is why we're seeing Germany struggle with just such a relationship with France. ...

Re: Sweden Considers French Defense Frigates to Strengthen Naval Power in Baltic Sea.
To be fair France has a lot to offer. ArianeGroup's MBT missile with a potential 3,000km range for example. They do indeed. In particular they have a lot of things to offer that would be attractive to adress certain military needs of Sweden and which we don’t have equivalents in production, and whi...

Now (the mildly speaking ”controversial”) Dr. Steven Greer has joined in: President Trump is ready to sign an executive order on UFO/UAP disclosure. Dr. Steven Greer just met with Trump administration officials in D.C. “I saw the drafts. They are real.” Trump believes there are benefits to revealing...

Plot twist, an interview with Barack Obama on Brian Tyler Cohen’s podcast released today. Cohen asked: ”Are aliens real?” Obama responded: “They’re real” “But I haven’t seen them. They’re not being kept at Area 51. There’s no underground facility — unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hi...

So just to add another bit of detail, this Mark Christopher Lee which is stating the things above is apparently also saying that his source is planning to come forward on May 1st and hold a press conference with more details on the supposed Trump disclosure speech. It would be a bit interesting to s...

Re: Sweden Considers French Defense Frigates to Strengthen Naval Power in Baltic Sea.
Maybe a bit of a twist that we didn’t see coming. As you may have noticed the collaboration between Germany and France on a new fighter isn’t going well and various sources claims that it’s essentially dead in the water. The ”Tom Antonov” account on X, which is a French defense commentator with appa...

Re: Sweden Considers French Defense Frigates to Strengthen Naval Power in Baltic Sea.
Naval Group and leading Swedish shipyard Oresund Drydocks AB, have signed a MoU for a Partnership Cooperation Agreement, on February 2, 2026, during the stopover of the FDI Amiral Ronarc'h in Sweden. This partnership aims to develop a local frigate maintenance facility in Sweden. Navantia signed an...

Re: Sweden Considers French Defense Frigates to Strengthen Naval Power in Baltic Sea.
Here’s an article by Navy Lookout which describes the Babcock/Saab bid a bit, and also seems to view it as having a decent chance to win. Note that I believe they made a slight mistake in writing 6 billion kronor when it should be about 60 billion. Babcock pitches Arrowhead-120 variant for the Swedi...

Significant news about Testimonium Flavionum, Josephus’ account of Jesus
A new book of interest is out, and a good summary on what it is about can be found in the cited article below. There’s also a PDF version of the book available for free as well, the link to which can also be found below. But in short, Josephus has long been regarded as the first non-Christian to wri...

Re: Sweden Considers French Defense Frigates to Strengthen Naval Power in Baltic Sea.
The Arrowhead 120 does look less impressive. Apart from being essentially a budget design as noted, I get the impression that the space and weight has gone more towards extended ocean cruising rather than towards weapons systems. The balance between the two on the FDI seems to be more in line with S...

Re: Sweden Considers French Defense Frigates to Strengthen Naval Power in Baltic Sea.
I watched an interview with a Naval Group representative in Gothenburg, conducted by Naval News. He mentioned that a potential Swedish version could integrate the Bofors 57 mm, Bofors 40 mm, RBS-15 and Torped 47. We also got confirmation that the earlier appearance in the thread of a combined Aster-...

Re: Sweden Considers French Defense Frigates to Strengthen Naval Power in Baltic Sea.
The defence material administration handed over its recommendation as to which option should be procured last week to the defence department, but it isn’t public. Now we have to wait for cabinet to make the decision. Both Navantia and Naval Group did a final push in conjunction with this. A Spanish ...
